History:

Adel grew up in a magical home, despite not being pureblood. Every one of his living relatives was a witch or wizard; and he was not an exception. At age 6 he showed his first signs of magical talent, by setting the tail of the neighbor's cat on fire, an event he's never quite lived down. He got a grasp on how to use basic magic quite quickly, and used it to utterly torment those around him in the way only small children can. His trouble-making behavior made it almost a blessing when he turned 11 and was sent off to Hogwarts. Or, so his parents thought.

His intellect, eidetic memory (photographic memory), and eagerness to learn, landed him in Ravenclaw, but not even that could quell his bad behavior. Constantly landing in detention, mouthing off at teachers, caught sneaking out in the halls with girls, it was a wonder he stayed at the top of his class. After all, sneaking into another house's common room to make out with a girl isn't exactly behavior you'd expect from a student who was predicted at age 12 to get all O's on his O.W.L exams.

And in spite of his behavior, no one really knows him. He's reserved, and introverted. He rarely opens up to anyone. Trying to understand him is like trying to read a book written in a language you don't know.

Adel sighed, sitting crosslegged on a toilet in the boy's restroom. It was lunch time, but he didn't feel like eating. He rarely did, though. So instead he hid off in the bathroom to have a smoke. He always stored up on cigarettes before coming to school, but he was getting fairly low. He didn't want to write home and ask for more - he'd promised his mum that he'd quit last year - but it was beginning to look as if that was his only hope. That, or go insane from withdrawal. The 5th year sighed, staring down at the book he'd brought to read. Arithmancy was his most dull subject - he had no idea why he'd decided to take it - but at the moment it was his only source of entertainment.

Suddenly, the door to the restroom opened, and slammed closed. Adel looked up quickly, holding his breath. He really didn't know who'd interrupted him, but he had a feeling he was going to find out...
